Twitter plans to pay its employees in bitcoin

The 'blue bird' company could be the next major company to acquire the popular cryptocurrency

Twitter’s CFO Ned Segal has announced that the company plans to establish payments to its workers with bitcoin, as indicated by the manager in an interview with CNBC

In addition, the company plans to include the popular cryptocurrency on its balance sheet as part of the company’s economic plan to pay its employees and suppliers in the cryptocurrency.

“We have thought a lot from the beginning to consider how we could pay employees if they request to be paid in bitcoin, how we could pay a provider if they request to be paid in btc and if we need to have btc on our balance sheet.”

Twitter’s intention to venture into the crypto world has been going on for a few months and the CEO of the company, Jack Dorsey, has expressed it on his official networks, especially on Twitter where only the word bitcoin is displayed in his ‘bio’.

Many companies have dabbled in cryptocurrencies due to the great impact they have had on the financial market on a global scale, as is the case of the payments company, Dorsey, who invested USD 50 million in bitcoin in October of last year.
