Turkey inaugurates blockchain technology studies center

It is located in Bahçeşehir University, in Istanbul, and is the first center for the study of this technology in the country, which seeks to make this knowledge accessible to all interested parties

Technological advances related to digital finance and cryptocurrencies have reached Turkey, where they have just opened the country’s first blockchain study center. It is in the University of Bahçeşehir, in Istanbul, and marks the entry of Turkey into the world of digitalization.

The Blockchain and Innovation Center of Istanbul, as it has been called, is a creation of Bora Erdamar, professor of economics, who also directs it. According to Erdamar’s statements, “the purpose of the BlockchainIST project is to be the most important center for research, development and innovation in Turkey.”

The center will be in charge of conducting scientific studies and publications on blockchain technology, as well as allowing the opening of this knowledge to the community in general.

Erdamar has highlighted the country’s potential to face the challenges posed by innovations and development in the new economy, thanks to the talent of its human resources.

These characteristics augur a good future for Turkey in the blockchain scenario, which follows the steps in terms of academic training in which countries such as England, Brazil and Argentina have already entered.
