Trump launched his own communications platform
After his Facebook and Twitter accounts were blocked, the former US president had announced the launch of his own network
Former United States President Donald Trump launched a new platform to communicate with his followers inspired by the social networks Twitter and Facebook, who have permanently suspended their accounts.
The platform, called “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump“, features videos of the former president and statements from his political action committee (PAC), “Save America.” The Campaign Nucleus company, a digital firm founded by Brad Parscale, Trump’s former campaign manager, runs the web, The Hill reports.
His followers can register to receive notifications when the ex-president issues a message from the platform, something similar to the operation of other social networks. However, you cannot reply to updates that Trump shares, but you can “like” them and share them through your own Facebook and Twitter accounts.
The “About” section of the website also includes praise for the Trump administration and statements of the purposes of its PAC, such as “we are committed to defending innocent life and defending the Judeo-Christian values of our foundation” or “we believe in freedom of expression and fair elections. We must ensure that fair, honest, transparent and safe elections are held, where every legal vote is counted.”
“It is just a form of communication. This system allows Trump to communicate with his followers“, added a source close to the project.
