Tinder incorporated voluntary identity verification for its users

The social network adds another form of security and partnered with Galbo in order to create a safe and trustful environment

The Tinder application is implementing the option of uploading the respective identity document of each country, which together with the verification of photos will allow to reinforce the environment of trust among its users and they can interact with complete security.

With this measure, the dating social network hopes to prevent the spread of false profiles, preventing users from suffering a bad experience that could become a danger to their integrity.

The company announced that the verification will be carried out worldwide, on a voluntary basis, except in countries where it is mandatory, such as Japan, where users must demonstrate that they are over 18 years of age to access the application, according to the legal statutes that govern in that country.

Rory Kozoll, Head of Trust & Safety Product, noted: “We know that one of the most valuable things Tinder can do to help users feel safe is to give them more confidence that their partners are authentic and more control over who they interact with. We hope that all of our members, around the world, see the benefits of interacting with people who have gone through our identity verification process.”

Greater security

Tinder, being a dating app, has different levels of security. For some time it has implemented the verification of photos that allows users to be sure that they are really interacting with the person shown in the photo, and now with the upload of the identity document it will enhance security for the users of the app.

Additionally, the social network also announced its integration with Garbo. A platform oriented to background checks, according to the public information offered by the countries.

The association with Garbo, the verification of photos and identity, increase the security levels generating the construction of a more secure digital environment and thus provide the possibility of using this type of official identification in the verification of profiles in all social networks.
