The Spanish hotel chain Meliá issued a statement on Thursday in which it denies the sale of the Meliá Caracas to the Traki group

This Thursday the hotel chain Meliá Hotels International issued a statement where its board denies the sale of the hotel located in Caracas to the commercial group Traki.

The measure was taken after various media outlets published this week, replicating information from the specialized outlet Producto, the alleged acquisition of the Meliá Caracas by the Traki group.

The hotel chain stated: “The Company continues betting on an extraordinary asset such as its Meliá Caracas hotel.”

The content of the statement is published below:

Meliá Hotels International wants to immediately and emphatically deny the information announcing the sale of our Meliá Caracas hotel.

Neither the establishment is for sale, as stated by the media, nor do we know the company identified as the alleged buyer, nor has the alleged “news” come in any way from company sources.

The Company continues betting on an extraordinary asset such as its Meliá Caracas hotel.

Founded in 1956 in Palma de Mallorca (Spain), Meliá Hotels International has more than 380 hotels open or in the process of opening in more than 40 countries under the brands Gran Meliá Hotels & Resorts, Paradisus by Meliá, ME by Meliá, Meliá Hotels & Resorts, The Meliá Collection, INNSiDE by Meliá and Sol by Meliá, in addition to a broad portfolio of hotels under the Affiliated by Meliá seal.
