Spanish government injects 18 billion euros into its economy

Pedro Sánchez's management announced the measure, which possibly many countries will apply in the coming days, to combat the consequences of the coronavirus

This week, in order to combat the consequences of the viral outbreak that is affecting the world, the Spanish government injected 18,225 million public euros.

Likewise, it is planned to provide liquidity to SMEs and the self-employed, as well as to strengthen public health and support the tourism sector.

The Head of Government, Pedro Sánchez, stressed that these will be “the first measures” of many others that are underway.

Sánchez stressed that “the coronavirus emergency also has very serious economic repercussions, which we are already suffering, because they affect our production, distribution systems and also the financial world.”

The measure seeks to give 14,000 million liquidity to the country’s productive fabric at a time of “cancellation of orders, reduction of customers, suspension of activities” and other side effects of the virus.
