The National Distance Education University (UNED) and the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU), presented in recent days the project called "Blockchain University"

The project represents a new step to boost competitiveness among Spanish professionals in an environment of constant transformation. The purpose is the transfer of knowledge with social value using encrypted and chained data technology.

The University of Blockchain is directed by Germán Ruipérez from the UNED and Gorka Palazio from the UPV-EHU with the support of the Association of Suppliers of eLearning (ApeL), FGSR-Casa del Lector and the International Center of Advanced Technologies (CITA) ). They also seek to sign agreements with other institutions that promote common objectives.

The National Distance Education University (UNED in Spanish) already works with blockchain technology and has academic initiatives focused on the dissemination of decentralized technology. For its part, the University of the Basque Country was a pioneer in blockchain-based certification at a recent congress held in Bilbao.

The University of Blockchain was launched to collaborate with organizations that pursue similar aims in order to organize seminars for the society in general and to the university community.
