SEGA joins the world of NFTs

The Japanese company will start the sale of digital content through blockchain technology in the coming months

The Japanese video game studio SEGA announced that in a few months it will begin to sell NFT, digital content created through blockchain technology, which will feature its classic video games and future titles in development.

NFT, short for non-fungible token, is a blockchain-based technology that guarantees the authenticity of a file in digital format, as well as who is its owner.

SEGA decided to join this trend in its case by developing and selling digital content from its classic series videogames through NFT.

Among the contents of its classic video games that it will sell through NFT, the Japanese studio has cited its visual art, game images and soundtrack.

Likewise, the Japanese company will also develop and sell content inspired by its current video game sagas, as well as franchises that will be created in the future, in which it plans to continue using user-owned NFCs.
