In this way, Samsung will boost its presence in areas such as semiconductors, biopharmaceuticals, artificial intelligence or robotics in response to the acceleration of the “fourth industrial revolution”.

In this sense, the South Korean pointed out that semiconductors have emerged as a key industry capable of conditioning the competitiveness of all sectors and in which competition between countries for hegemony is intensifying.

“Semiconductors are the ‘security board’ of the Korean economy and the main industry of the fourth industrial revolution. Samsung’s aggressive investment is effectively a ‘survival strategy’ in the sense that once competitiveness is lost, it is almost impossible to recover”, the company said.
