Nintendo to open first Donkey Kong theme park in Japan in December

The entertainment company dedicated to the development of video games announced the opening in December, in Japan, of the first Donkey Kong Country theme park at Super Nintendo World

In an ambitious plan to attract more audiences, Nintendo World announced that in December will be the opening in Japan of the first Donkey Kong Country theme park.

According to Shigeru Miyamoto and J. L. Bonnier, President and CEO of Universal Studios Japan, the opening date of the park will be December 11.

In the presentation, Miyamoto gives a tour of the attractions of the park, showing “an area similar to that of the Mushroom Kingdom of Super Mario, full of secrets and minigames.” It includes the new Power-Up Band from DK, which will be accompanied by one of Diddy Kong.

The facilities of Donkey Kong Country are totally interactive, through the use of special bracelets, including those of Super Mario. Visitors will be able to follow footprints on the ground and search for the letters “KONG.”

There will be mini-games, with music and surprises; rest areas and gift shops such as Funky’s Fly ‘n’ Buy. For food, the park will offer restaurants such as Jungle Beat Shakes.

The biggest surprise for fans of the saga is the Golden Temple, inside which they will find an animatronic of Cranky Kong talking to Squawks; murals alluding to a mysterious banana and the origins of Donkey.

Once in the Temple, visitors will be able to enjoy the new area of Super Nintendo World Japan: Mine Cart Madness. It is a coaster that will take them on a journey of emotions, with tasks such as protecting the Golden Banana from Tiki Tong. The main attraction is that the cars are shot by an explosive barrel.

In reality, the structure is suspended in the air as they advance through a waterfall and fly over a pit of spikes.
