Nicolás Maduro’s ministerial cabinet underwent changes that were announced this Tuesday, although strategic positions such as the Vice Presidency of the Republic were ratified, where Delcy Rodríguez, who was also appointed as Minister of Petroleum, remains.

Maduro appointed deputy Diosdado Cabello as the new Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace; ratified Vladimir Padrino López in the Ministry of Defense, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yvan Gil and Freddy Ñañez as Minister of Communication.

Héctor Obregón is now the president of the state-owned Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA), and Pedro Tellechea becomes president of the Ministry of Industry and National Production.

The new Minister of Agriculture and Lands is General Menry Fernández; Leticia Gómez is the Minister of Tourism and Anabel Fernández Pereira presides over the Ministry of Finance and Foreign Trade.

For their part, Eduardo Piñate and Héctor Rodríguez leave the governorships of the states of Apure and Miranda to occupy the portfolios of Labor and Education, respectively. Also, deputy Ricardo Sánchez was appointed president of the Ministry of Higher Education, while Ernesto Villegas remains at the head of the Ministry of Culture.

“Juan Carlos Loyo was ratified in the position of Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries; Héctor Silva as Minister of Ecological Mining Development and Leal Tellería as Minister of Food.”

Luis Villegas and Clara Vidal remain at the head of the Ministry of National Commerce as Minister of Indigenous Peoples; Ángel Prado in the Ministry of Communes and Social Movements, and Julio García in the Ministry of Penitentiary Affairs.

Grecia Colmeranez was appointed as the new Minister for Youth. Jhoana Carrillo will be in charge of the Women’s Ministry; Carlos Masjustin from the Ministry of Water. For his part, Raúl Paredes is the new Minister of Housing and Habitat, and Juan José Ramírez, Minister of Public Works.
