Netflix announces the purchase of a video game studio

The streaming platform, committed to its new entertainment strategy, confirmed the purchase of Night School Studio

Netflix announced the acquisition of video game developer Night School Studio, the first studio to become part of the “streaming” platform as part of its new strategy to include this type of entertainment in its service.

The company acknowledges that it is in the “early stages of creating a great gaming experience” and has now confirmed the purchase of the video game studio, as indicated in the official statement.

Founded in 2014, Night School Studio is responsible for the Oxenfree video game, released on PC and Xbox One but later expanded to other consoles and to Android and iOS mobile devices. The platform stands out for its “bold mission to set a new standard for storytelling in games.”

This company is the first video game developer bought by Netflix, who has assured that “it will not be the last due to its new approach.”

“We will continue to work with developers around the world and hire the best talent in the industry to offer a large collection of exclusive games designed for all types of players and any level of play,” said the streaming platform.
