Musk confessed his support for bitcoin
The CEO of Tesla stated during an interview that he should have acquired coins eight years ago
Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently declared himself a self-confessed long-time follower of the cryptocurrency bitcoin.
The businessman assured that he regrets not having acquired coins from this asset eight years ago. “Right now I think bitcoin is a good thing. I’m late for the party, but I’m a bitcoin fan.”
After this interview, the price of the digital asset shot up $ 1,000 more, to settle at $ 34,500 by Monday, February 1st.
In the last 12months, bitcoin has seen a 260 % increase in value, as has the inclusion of various money managers to its ranks such as Paul Tudor Jones, Stanley Druckenmiller, among others.
It is not the first that Musk has tweeted about his support for a certain asset and it takes its value higher. In recent weeks, he posted on Twitter that he liked Etsy, prompting a 10 % rally in shares. It has also supported the cryptocurrency dogecoin and generated a 20 % increase. It also added to the enthusiasm for GameStop.
