The metaverse is the investment of the financial future and the trend of the technology sector after Mark Zuckerberg announced the name change of his company, which is attracting the attention of various professionals and investors around the world.
Etymologically, the term metaverse is derived from “meta” which means beyond and “verse”, alternative or derivation of the universe. Therefore, it can be understood as the approximation between reality and the virtual.
This new virtual environment combines some aspects and functions of “social networks, online video games, the work environment or social interactions, using augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR) and cryptocurrencies to allow users cope in a digital or virtual environment.”
Executing the metaverse is complex and the companies involved in this environment are under the magnifying glass of the financial markets, which is why investors follow the evolution and developments in detail, considering it an immersive opportunity to make long-term investments.
Mark Zuckerberg expressed which are the objectives established by Meta, but there are various companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, Roblox, Walt Disney, among others that are related to the technology sector and want to position themselves in the market and lead a niche within the metaverse.
Metaverse and cryptocurrencies
A common factor in the metaverse ecosystem is cryptocurrencies because they will be present in all digital tractions, since the different types of financing that are executed will use the blockchain, thus cryptocurrencies are part of the future.
Bitcoin is postulated as the main digital currency in the metaverse, followed by ethereum, which will focus on digital contracts to give legal validity to financial operations, crypto such as cardano, litecoin or binance coin, polkadot, among others, will be the keys for the future.
