Metamask blocks access from Venezuela

Users reported on social networks that they could not access the Metamask ethereum network

Through social networks, users of the Metamask platform reported that they had not been able to enter the Ethereum blockchain network from Venezuela.

Until now, the reasons for this access restriction are unknown, however, many argued that this was due to the sanctions that have been imposed against the South American country in the past.

However, some time later, the Metamask network itself published an apology arguing that this restriction on access to Venezuela was due to an incorrect configuration made by them.

Infura, who also apologized via Twitter, explained that what happened was due to a major change that was necessary in the configurations of the service, as a result of new sanctions directives from the United States and other jurisdictions.

Given the limitation of access, the recommendation emerged through the social network Twitter for Metamask users in Venezuela to access their wallet through the use of a VPN service.
