Meta cancels the F8 2022 event

The celebration of the developer event organized by Meta has been postponed due to the efforts that Meta is making to develop the metaverse

Meta canceled the celebration of F8 2022, its annual conference for developers, a decision that it justified with the efforts they are dedicating to the metaverse, and with the celebration of other events throughout the year.

Meta reported that it will take a break and will not host the F8 2022 while it faces new initiatives designed to create “the next chapter of the Internet” and that of the company itself, as stated in a statement.

This chapter is none other than the metaverse. Meta likens this task to “the early stages of the web” and refers to building it as “a collaborative effort” between “other companies, creators, and developers.”

Meta invites developers to connect with the company at other events that will be held this year, such as ‘Conversations’, dedicated to the messaging business and which will take place on May 19.

From Meta the celebration of a new Connect is also confirmed, which will be held at the end of 2022 and will be focused on the metaverse, augmented reality and virtual reality. It should be remembered that, at Connect 2021, the company announced its name change (from Facebook to Meta).
