Axie Infinity manages to recover 150 million dollars

The company reported that, after the theft, the game Axie Infinity achieved this recovery thanks to the support of Binance

The developer of the game Axie Infinity, Sky Mavis announced that it has already managed to recover 150 million dollars thanks to special financing provided by Binance.

The goal of this process is to offer reimbursement for funds lost after the recent nft game Ronin Bridge exploit, which triggered a $600 million loss.

The attacker behind the hack managed to drain 173,600 ethereum and 25.5 million USD Coin in just two transactions using hacked private keys. At the time, the creators behind the game had promised that they would try to recover all lost funds or refund users with the help of their investors.

According to the developers themselves, there are still weeks of work so that the Ronin Bridge can be active again, since they are working on a security update and subsequent audits.

The attacker’s Axie Infinity account has started moving funds to coin-mixing services like Tornado Cash in an attempt to launder the stolen funds. However, it is important to note that the Poly Network attacker did the same, initially, but eventually decided to return the funds as it became increasingly difficult to launder such a large amount.
