LinkedIn adds new features to customize your feed

The LinkedIn platform has made several updates to its logarithm that allows network users to incorporate new features to personalize their feed

The LinkedIn social network made a series of investments and a great effort in order to improve the experience of its users, so it updated its algorithm that includes functions to personalize the feed. The goal is for users to have greater control over what they want or not see” and thus improve their experience within the platform.

This new control feature makes it easy for users to inform the platform, by “just pressing the I don’t want to see this button, by clicking the 3 dots on any post”. The function also allows knowing the interest of the users for a specific author or topic.

Spokespersons for the social network explained that some publications invite the community to express their reactions to the content with the intention of increasing the reach on the platform, but sometimes the type of content “is misleading and frustrating.” The platform will not promote this type of content and encourages “all members of the community to focus on offering reliable, credible and authentic content.”

The new content control feature also allows users to report all posts that violate professional community policies. “The LinkedIn technical team may take action on accused profiles, such as being suspended or removed entirely.”

More news from LinkedIn

The new algorithm of the social network facilitates access to a greater amount of valuable content, interesting and can help users to develop and grow professionally. The platform bets on news and “opinions of public figures that are to the user’s liking, such as opinion leaders, experts in a sector, professors and content creators with relevant information applicable to daily work.”

Another cool feature that LinkedIn is adding, but it’s in testing for the US market, is the ability to decide if you want to remove political content from your feed. If the test is successful, the function will be available in all countries.
