Latin America joins the campaign to denounce crypto scams

A group of countries in the region are now part of the European forces in charge of speaking out about crypto scams

Authorities in Argentina, Chile, and Colombia have recently joined Spain and other countries in leading the “FakeCoin” campaign, which seeks to raise awareness of cryptocurrency scams.

This group of Latin countries, along with some members of the European Union, joined forces in order to promote a campaign to warn citizens about fraud with this type of asset.

The campaign called “FakeCoin” aims to raise awareness among the population about fraudulent operations with cryptocurrencies, hand in hand with a number of resources that will allow citizens to identify and stay alert in the face of this type of situation.

The campaign has the participation of police and judicial authorities from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the Dominican Republic and Uruguay, in addition to Spain and Portugal, in Europe.

The initiative is also part of a broader international cooperation effort that the Civil Guard has launched with the help of the International Foundation for Ibero-America for Administration and Public Policies (FIIAP), a Spanish cooperation organization that promotes exchanges with Latin American countries.
