Lasso issues his first decrees as president

The new president of Ecuador repealed the Communication Law, the transformation of the Sports Secretariat, among other actions

The president of Ecuador, Guillermo Lasso, issued his first decrees in office, hours after assuming the Presidency, among which stand out the repeal of the regulations of the Communication Law and the removal of 1.7 million people from the risk center.

Among the orders signed by the president are the Code of Ethics and the transformation of the Sports Secretariat into a Ministry, as well as erasing the credit information of citizens who accumulate debts of up to $ 1,000.

This last decree, which also contemplates that the institutions of the popular economy eliminate citizens with credits less than 500 dollars from their records, seeks that people can access credits, although without eliminating the legitimate right to collect them.

On the other hand, Lasso decreed that the vice president, Alfredo Borrero, be in charge of the state management of health, and also signed the authorization for the appointment of ministers, secretaries of state and councilors.

Finally, he announced that he would send to the National Assembly a draft Law on Free Expression and Communication, which would repeal the Communication Law, and that the first meeting of the Security Council with the military and police authorities, among others, will be held tonight.
