Instagram modified the minimum limit of daily use of the app

The social network Instagram indicated that it made changes to the limit of daily use in order to "not saturate the user with notifications"

Instagram has set the daily time limit for mobile app usage to remove options shorter than 30 minutes, so that users who have turned on the “Take a Break” feature won’t receive multiple notifications.

The app allows you to set a daily usage limit that, when reached, displays a notification to the user to recommend that they close the app. This line can be set to multiple hours (with options of three, two, or one) or minutes (45, 30, or 15).

The new update changed the lower limit, so users only have the ability to select 30 minutes, not less time. This is because the company recently added another feature: “Take a break”.

Instagram’s new break feature

“Take a break” is a tool that encourages people to take a break from the platform. To achieve this, display a reminder with the time interval the user selected: 30, 20, or 10 minutes.

With the two types of time management features in the app, the firm said in a statement to Europa Press that it changed the daily limit options to “avoid sending people multiple notifications at the same time.”
