IBM will now allow tracking of the wine distribution chain with blockchain technology

The analysis will be carried out through the platform called VinAssure, a new viticultural ecosystem

IBM and eProvenance, a company specializing in monitoring and analyzing wine shipping conditions, have announced VinAssure by eProvenance: a new blockchain-based platform that offers a more secure and intelligent way to track wines at every stage of their distribution chain, from the vineyard to the consumer.

VinAssure increases traceability, efficiencies and benefits throughout the wine supply chain, through recorded, shared, immutable and authorized information.

In this way, it helps to ensure that the methods that wine producers use are not affected by errors in the chain, incorrect labeling or unsuitable conditions during transport.

This platform is available on the IBM Cloud and has been built on the IBM Blockchain Transparent Supply, as explained in a statement. It seeks to give way to a new viticultural ecosystem that provides consumers with information to ensure that the wine they buy meets their expectations.

The first member of VinAssure is De Maison Selections, an importer of wines, ciders and other alcoholic beverages in the United States from independent producers in Spain and France.
