Huawei expects a new open US policy

The founder of the company, Ren Zhengfei, assured that he wants the new Administration of Joe Biden to seek the economic benefit and that of the American companies themselves

The founder and CEO of Huawei, Ren Zhengfei, expressed his wish that the new US government can have a “more open” policy, which would benefit the economy and the US companies themselves.

“We hope that the US government can have a more open policy for the benefit of US companies and the development of their economy”, Ren said in a meeting with the media.

In this sense, the Chinese businessman has not hesitated to be willing to discuss the situation with the new president of the United States, Joe Biden, in his first comments on the matter since the change of tenant in the White House.

However, the businessman acknowledged the difficulty of the Chinese company leaving the list of entities of the US government, which imposes restrictions on its activity in the country and with US companies. “I won’t say it’s impossible, but it’s extremely difficult, so basically, we don’t have that expectation.”

Gina Raimondo, nominated by Biden as the new US commerce secretary, said last week that she currently saw no reason why companies included in the entity list should not remain there.
