Google will close its podcast service

The technology giant announced that it would continue investing in podcasts, but within this other platform

Google shared a schedule of when its Google Podcast content service will stop working, which it will completely discontinue in April 2024 in the United States, encouraging users to migrate their content to YouTube Music.

At the end of last September, the technology giant announced that it would continue investing in podcasts, but within this other platform, as it hoped to end Google Podcasts over the next year.

With this closure, the company committed to providing creators with the necessary tools to transfer content, programs and audiences to YouTube Music, where these podcasts can be watched and listened to without the need for a subscription.

The company has now specified that Google Podcast will stop working in the United States in April 2024 and that access to this service will be guaranteed until March of next year.

Additionally, Google has indicated that for podcasts that are not currently available on YouTube, listeners will be able to add shows directly to their YouTube Music library.
