Galaxy Watch4 series enhances health and fitness features

Starting February 9, users of Galaxy Watch4 devices will be able to enjoy improvements in health, training and personalization functions

The latest update to the Galaxy Watch4 series of devices includes improved health features in areas such as fitness and advanced interval training, as well as new face and strap customization options.

Samsung Electronics President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business TM Roth said: “We understand the growing needs of smartwatch users and are committed to providing Galaxy Watch series users with unique wellness experiences.”

Among the improvements, the interval training updates stand out, aimed at cyclists and runners, which will allow you to preset the duration of the route, the distance to be traveled and the number of repetitions of the exercise. You can also use the watch as a guide to perform high-intensity exercises interspersed with lower-intensity ones.

The impact of Galaxy Watch4 on health

Another of the updates available in the series is focused on Body Composition, which offers users more information about their health and their progress. The Galaxy Watch4 model is capable of measuring blood pressure and records the electrocardiogram (ECG) to monitor heart health. They will also be able to enjoy a digital fitness program that will help improve their health and transform their physical and mental form.

On the other hand, Samsung presented its new sleep training program used to improve sleeping habits and that works by recording sleep patterns for seven days. Once the user completes the surveys, the program will assign one of the eight available animals, according to their characteristics, which symbolize the type of rest.

The sleep training program, which lasts an estimated four to five weeks, includes tests, meditation sessions and periodic reports to improve the quality of rest.

The Galaxy Watch4 software update is available through the Galaxy Wearable app from February 9. The company also announced new watch customization options, with additional colors and fonts available for digital watches, for straps, adding new hues such as burgundy and warm ivory.

Android compatibility

The Korean manufacturer and Google presented, in 2021, the Wear OS Powered by Samsung operating system to offer greater fluidity in connections between Android devices and facilitate accessibility to applications included in Google Play, such as Maps or YouTube Music.

In addition, Samsung announced that through an upcoming additional update, users will be able to play music on their watches via WiFi or LTE broadband wireless technology from the YouTube Music app.
