FC Barcelona closed last season in green numbers

The economic vice president of FC Barcelona, Eduard Romeu, presented the figures corresponding to the previous campaign, and gave his forecasts for 2022/2023

FC Barcelona presented the economic closure of last season, with a profit of 98 million euros, and the budget for the 2022/23 season, which foresees 1,255 million, which represents a historical record in turnover for the Barça team.

In a presentation the economic vice president Eduard Romeu detailed the figures of a season marked by “the effort in the recovery of income”. In this way, operating expenses in 2021/22 have been 1,017 million euros, with expenses of 856 million.

The year was marked by the sale of 10% of the television rights derived from the LaLiga matches of the men’s first team. This last point has reported gross income of 266 million euros not initially foreseen in the budget, approved at the Assembly on June 16, 2022.

Without the effect of this extraordinary sale, they have achieved 750 million euros in the rest of the operating income, very close to the budget target and exceeding the result of the previous year by 119 million euros, thanks to the gradual recovery derived from the end of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Among revenues, it is also worth noting that there was a 415 % increase in revenues from the operation of the stadium and the rest of the facilities, which have placed the 2021/22 season on the path of recovering revenues prior to the pandemic (131 million euros), leaving behind a year 2020/21 without an audience.
