Facebook will combat fraudulent reviews

The company that owns Facebook made an update in its privacy policies, in order to be able to leave honest opinions about the products

Meta has updated its policies to address the issue of fraudulent reviews on Facebook Business Merchant Pages and to set out the type of reviews customers can leave on the products they purchase.

The company implemented the new “Community Comments Policy“, which it created based on the regulations already in force on the content allowed to users and those referring to advertising and commerce for companies. It is currently available in the United States.

The new measures seek to offer “clearer guidelines on what types of comments are allowed on Meta products,” as noted on its Facebook Business page. And, specifically, to state that it “specifically prohibits review manipulation, incentivization, irrelevancy, graphic content, and spam”.

The company expects that the reviews and comments left by users on the business pages are based on real shopping experiences, since it understands that these publications help potential customers to decide on the purchase of a product.

As with the rest of the content and comments, the moderators and automatic systems will review the reviews to verify that they comply with the community norms, being able to withdraw those that do not.
