European Union suspends tariff countermeasures against the US for six months

Amid the controversy over the Donald Trump administration's tariffs, the European Union has decided to pause its trade countermeasures for six months, following the agreement between the two regions

The US president had announced a package of 30 % tariffs on imports of European Union products starting August 1.

Following the agreement reached between the parties, it was learned that the EU will pause for six months “the two packages of countermeasures that were due to come into effect this week in response to the US tariffs.”

This was officially announced by the European Commission, which specified that they continue working with the United States “to finalize a joint declaration, as agreed on July 27.”

Relations between the two regions have become tense in recent weeks due to the imposition of tariffs on imports of EU products. However, the spirit of camaraderie and diplomacy remains in place to ensure the negotiations reach a successful conclusion and achieve conditions that benefit both parties.
