Embassies of Venezuela suffer a cyber attack

The media reported the cyber attack that suffered more than ten Venezuelan embassies this Thursday, through which they issued a false statement giving their support to interim president Juan Guaidó

Due to the cyber attack that this Thursday suffered more than ten embassies of Venezuela in the world, spokesmen of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs suspended all publication until the problem was solved.

Through the media, government spokesmen indicated the hacking of the websites of the embassies of Venezuela in Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, Colombia, Egypt, Guatemala, Italy, Russia and Uruguay.

The attack consisted of the issuance of a false statement by the diplomatic entities through which they did not support Nicolás Maduro as president of the South American country and gave their support to interim president Juan Guaidó.

The false statements, each with differences in its structure, also pointed to the need for a political transition in Venezuela and the acceptance of humanitarian aid for the population.

The Venezuelan authorities suspended all communication and publication through the portals of the embassies that suffered the cyberattack until its restoration.

For its part, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs published on its website the attack on its diplomatic corps in the affected countries and ratified its commitment to the government of President Maduro.
