eBay could bet on cryptocurrencies

The online shopping platform eBay is in search of new mechanisms to adapt its services to the new times.

One of these new strategies would be the use of cryptocurrencies, taking into account that one of its main allies, Paypal, has been working with that support for a few months.

On the other hand, the platform also used by collectors could apply the use of NFTs, which consists of non-fungible tokens that can be collectible by users.

Those responsible for eBay confirmed those intentions in a statement, adding that they are always observing the most relevant forms of payment and, “although we do not have immediate plans, cryptocurrencies are something we are paying attention to.”

These eBay moves may be due to the growing threat posed by other platforms such as Shopify, which had excellent tax results, while eBay is disappointing and underperforming the market.
