Cryptojacking attacks have increased this 2018

The research conducted by Trend Micro Incorporated indicated that hacks have grown up to 956%

A study conducted by the cybersecurity firm Trend Micro Incorporated highlighted that so far this year, cryptojacking has increased by at least 956%.

With the rise of new finance, cryptocurrencies, attacks with malware have come to light and each time there are more companies affected by this cybernetic phenomenon.

Other aspect highlighted by this research is that the methods used to make hacks are evolving rapidly.

Jon Clay, director of global threat communication at Trend Micro, said that over time cybercriminals will change their attack weapons.

“The recent change in the threat landscape reflects what we’ve seen for years: cybercriminals will constantly change their tools, tactics and procedures to improve their infection rates. Ransomware attacks and data breaches had become the norm, so the attackers changed their tactics to be more covert, using input vectors that had not been seen or used before. This means that business leaders must evaluate their defenses to ensure protection instead of stopping the most recent and most urgent threats”, highlighted Clay.

The study also indicates that networks infected with digital currency mining viruses can decline their performance, computing power and even slowly corrode their hardware.
