Cryptocurrencies ATMs proliferate in the world

Currently there are about 4,000 ATMs for the purchase and sale of cryptocurrencies around the world

According to information published on the portal CoinATMradar.com there are approximately 4,000 ATMs around the world that allow trading with cryptocurrencies. The highest concentration of these devices is in North America, while in Latin America less than 1% is recorded.

The increase in ATMs for digital currency trading offers people a very practical, simple and useful mechanism to access balances in the most recognized cryptocurrencies, representing a much friendlier alternative to operating using the exchange platforms.

During the last years the number of ATMs in circulation has increased considerably. Currently, the 4,000 operating throughout the world coexist with 141,000 similar services that operate through mobile terminals, points of sale and even traditional bank devices.

Around 71% of operating devices are located in North America while 23.5% are operating in European territory. Although Latin America has seen a greater adoption of ATMs in the last year, the amount is equivalent to 0.98%.

The low percentage prevailing in Latin America has to do primarily with the irregularities that exist around the legitimacy of operations with digital currencies, as well as the lack of transparency on the part of the authorities. 61.7% of the installed devices only allow the purchase of balances in the different cryptocurrencies while the remaining 38.3% includes the sale option.
