Cruise ships arrive in the metaverse

The Carnival cruise company has launched into the metaverse with virtual itinerary offers, which reinforce its packages in real life

Cruise ship lovers now have virtual options in the metaverse at the hands of the company Carnival Cruise Lines, after it filed an application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the protection of the patent on this technology.

In the application before the USPTO, under the number 97559826, Carnival has specified the inclusion of the different materials usually used in real life, which now go to the metaverse, as “downloadable multimedia file containing illustrations, text, audio and video related to travel authenticated by non-fungible tokens (NFTs); downloadable image files containing scannable QR codes authenticated by non-fungible tokens (NFT)”.

Music files, all on-board accommodation, food and entertainment products have also been included. On the other hand, they contemplate sales services with travel agencies for reservations, transfers, organization of tours.

Undoubtedly, the creation of the virtual environment for the enjoyment of cruises is the most awaited innovation by lovers of boat tours around the world. Carnival Cruise Line advances a step in the market and strengthens its competitiveness.
