Carrefour will integrate blockchain technology in cheese sales

The multinational chain wants to offer its clients the opportunity to certify the entire process from production to sale of the product

The multinational chain of food distribution of French origin, Carrefour announced that it will start selling cheeses with a distribution supported by blockchain technology.

With this, the supermarket chain will now allow its customers to scan the QR codes that are present in the packaging of their Rocamadour CQL company.

With this protection strategy, the company seeks to assume quality issues and characteristics that products should have.

The incorporation of this technology will allow its customers to a large amount of information, related to the DOP cheese, which includes data on the production from the beginning until it reaches the sales shelves.

Currently, around 5 million food products are already using blockchain technology in their supply chains, a growing niche in the blockchain industry.

Among the blockchain-backed products sold by Carrefour, there can be counted chickens, tomatoes, oranges and milk.
