Banco Santander launches digital investment unit
The Spanish entity developed a new area thanks to the accounting technology and the blockchain
Santander Bank of Spain announced this week the launch of a new digital unit for investments, which will be based on accounting and blockchain technology.
This creation will be preceded by director John Whelan of the blockchain area of the Iberian nation. The executive vice president, José M. Linares, spoke about the era of digitalization and how this has affected the company.
Santander Bank has been committed for some time to the development of blockchain technologies. It was recently included as a member of the “We Trade” consortium, as well as joining the Ethereum Corporate Consortium.
New technologies offer an infinity of possibilities and open doors to previously unexplored lands, which could present opportunities and innovative solutions.
