For the Vinotinto leader, it is an "honor" that Bancamiga has selected her to represent all the bank's workers and share her passion and love for soccer, which was "love at first sight, which began at the age of five"

Deyna Castellanos is one of the great soccer players in the world. He is the leader of the Vinotinto team and Manchester City of England. As the new official image of Bancamiga, he hopes to “create things together” to motivate young people and boost the country’s strengths.

“We share many values with Bancamiga, and it is a source of pride that they trusted me to be part of the team,” she said, adding that today it is an honor for her to represent all the bank’s workers, which has just been recognized for the second year ranked as a great place to work, according to Great Place to Work, a similar leader in organizational culture.

Although many intuit it, Deyna’s love for soccer was love at first sight. It all started at the age of five. It was at that age that he had his first contact with this sport, which happened when his mother took his older brother to the games.

“I started running and kicking the ball. That was in Maracay, at the San Ignacio soccer school. One day, a coach saw me and talked to my parents. My dad didn’t agree, because it was a boy’s sport, so my mom secretly took me. My dad used to travel a lot and one day he came unexpectedly and saw me in my uniform. He asked me and I told him I was going to the game. He also fell in love with football when he saw me play,” he said.

She confessed that he has achieved many important goals such as being part of the Venezuelan team, winning the Under 17 Golden Boot, obtaining a sports and academic scholarship in the United States and playing professional soccer.

“I have had the talent, the discipline, the fortune and the dedication to be in great teams. However, there is an unfulfilled dream: to qualify for an absolute World Cup-”

“My mother, a super heroine”

For “Deyna, La Reina”, as she is affectionately called, not everything has been easy. There are still countries where women’s soccer is not respected and where the macho culture is imposed, as happened in Venezuela and in some Latin American nations, so their generation has had to break that paradigm.

“Every step I take has been great and has opened many doors for other (players),” she stressed.

He maintained that he wants to transmit this passion with which he plays to all young people. “I am very happy to be part of Bancamiga because I can provide motivation to all Venezuelan youth through soccer. It is a great challenge to represent Bancamiga, but at the same time a great honor.”

When asked about the figure that has inspired her the most throughout her life, she does not hesitate to say that it was her mother. It was and still is, for all the sacrifices it has made. “I think of her as a superhero,” she said.

For the new official image of Bancamiga, it is necessary to fight for respect for human rights, for gender equality and persevere to achieve dreams.
