AT&T will boost Internet service at 1GB per second

The American company is working on improving the connection to the net using low-cost electricity and plastic lines

The AT&T company reported that since Monday it is working on a project of high speed Internet services through electricity lines.

The executives are already in conversations with technology providers for the development of commercial grade equipment with the aim of achieving a connection at 1 gigabyte of speed per second.

AT&T is focused on expanding the field tests of the equipment in the next months to stand out in the communications sector.

“We are confident that we are on the cusp of a technology that could help solve the digital gap in this country”, said Andre Fuetsch, president of AT&T Labs and technology director.

Since two years ago, the company’s researchers determined that the use of low cost plastic equipment used in the existing electric poles would be beneficial for the connection to the network.
