E-commerce and tech giant Amazon announced that it plans to hire an additional 125,000 people to fill vacancies in logistics and transportation departments at a median hourly wage of $ 18.
These jobs are in addition to the 40,000 openings Amazon opened last week to fill its demand for corporate and tech workers.
The hourly wage for jobs now on offer reaches $ 22.5 in some cities. In addition, the company will provide part-time employees with health, dental and vision insurance, as well as 20 weeks of parental leave.
In some cities, Amazon even plans to pay new hires a $ 3,000 contract signing bonus.
