Android 13 will incorporate support for braille

The Android reading tool will have support for all types of screens of this style for blind people

Android’s screen reading tool, Talkback, will add support for braille displays in the coming weeks, a novelty in accessibility aimed at smartphone users who are blind or deafblind.

Braille screens are a device that generates dots on the flat surface to help blind or deafblind people to read, and there is also the possibility of composing text with them.

These screens can be connected to an Android device to help use the equipment, but require a separate app download, or use of a virtual keyboard in Talkback, which replaces the physical keyboard.

Google announced in a statement the support for braille displays directly on Android, which will allow its use directly from the Talkback tool, without having to download anything else. It will be available in the next beta of Android 13, which will arrive in a few weeks.
