Content creators on TikTok will soon have a payment tool via direct messages, thanks to the platform’s upcoming feature called TikTok Pay.
Although this initiative is not yet in the testing phase, it does work in Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand for purchases within the TikTok Shop. The toll was found within “the code of the current version of the TikTok app for iPhone in the United States,” according to Bloomberg and CoinDesk.
The new feature would allow recipients to accept payments before a due date, and senders would receive notifications about the transaction status.
TikTok Pay will not only allow users to make purchases through TikTok Shop, but will also enable them to “acquire digital currency used to send virtual gifts to creators and live stream hosts, who can then convert some of that revenue into cash.”
