UCAB will incorporate blockchain and cryptocurrencies as topics in some careers

During the next semester, which begins in October 2021, these subjects will be studied in the careers of Public Accounting and Business Administration

Blockchain technology has generated great interest in the different international study centres due to the wide range of applications that it promises from the perspective of the design of initiatives, to meet the objective that a project can be a productive, autonomous and sustainable partner.

It is the case of the Andrés Bello Catholic University (UCAB) in Venezuelan, which will open to the study of this disruptive technology by adding subjects and courses within their careers. Previously, the institution of higher studies was offering this type of training to its students on an optional basis.

New subjects will be in the academic curriculum from October

The changes to the curriculum approved in July of this year will come into effect from the October 2021-February 2022 semester in some careers, such as Business Administration, Common Subjects and Public Accounting. Being the latter with the most annexed subjects in the pensum, since they are oriented within the economy and related disciplines.

UCAB moving towards the future

Some of the subjects such as blockchain and crypto assets, cryptocurrencies, fintech, among others, will be compulsory taught during the career at this prestigious Venezuelan university.

In the particular case of blockchain and crypto assets, from the educational period October 2021-February 2022, it went from being an elective subject to a compulsory subject in the first semester.

In this way the institution intends to generate a space for analysis and discussion of the markets, reinforcing the general skills and capacity related to emerging economies.

It also seeks to offer a practical approach to students, betting on integrating key concepts of modern technologies, their operation, applications and advantages that will allow them to develop the skills and abilities that integrate professional human talent with experiences based on blockchain.
