Google develops a tool that creates videos with web pages

According to the development team, thanks to this new system, animations can be created based only on text and still images of the portals

Google created an Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool that is capable of converting a web page only of text and still images into video, and that is capable of making assembly decisions on its own, prioritizing important content.

URL2Video, as the prototype developed by Google is known, produces short 12-second videos, although users can select custom lengths, as well as horizontal (16:9 or 4:3) or vertical aspect formats.

The tool obtains the contents published in an HTML web page, from text to images and other videos, and organizes them in a sequence of shots, keeping the style of the original website.

To create these short videos, which can be used for ‘marketing’ or social media tasks, the system itself makes editing decisions, such as how long each resource appears and how they are displayed.

To do this, it relies on a heuristic approach developed by web design and video creation experts that captures the most common video assembling styles on the Internet to train its AI.

The Google tool is able to prioritize the contents according to their importance, selecting, for example, the most prominent information on the web in the upper parts or with a larger size, and showing each plane long enough to be able to read the text and see the image.
