Facebook bug causes a drop in Spotify and other apps

The social network development tool caused problems in the services and falls in several applications where Pinterest, Tinder, among others, also stand out

A Facebook bug in its developer software development tool (SDK) caused service cut and massive crashes in various apps for Apple’s iOS operating system including Spotify, TikTok, Pinterest, and Tinder.

This fall in iOS applications was generated two days ago, as users have denounced on Twitter.

The service problems are due to an error caused by an update to the Facebook SDK for iOS, which allows these applications to use the registry through their accounts on the American company’s social network.

Unregistered users through Facebook were also affected, according to The Verge, and among the services with problems are Spotify, TikTok, Pinterest, Tinder and GrubHub.

“A new version of Facebook included a change that caused problems for some users in some applications that used the Facebook SDK for iOS”, said a spokesperson for the social network.

Facebook said the problem with its SDK was “identified and quickly resolved” on Wednesday, but some apps like Spotify and TikTok continued to experience problems on Thursday as well, according to Downdetector.
