Ikea will sell its products through a Tmall virtual store

Through the Chinese language website Tmall, previously called Taobao Mall, the Ikea company will sell its products through a virtual store in the Alibaba B2C trade marketplace.

This eCommerce will offer more than 3,800 popular products and furniture from the Swedish multinational that is currently available for Shanghai and the provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui. However, the expansion of the service is expected to continue its course to other locations in China. .

For Jiang Fan, president of Tmall and Taobao, “Ikea is the world’s leading retailer of home furnishings and is loved by many consumers in China.” The businessman also expressed his pleasure in “helping Ikea to explore new online channels and allowing more Chinese consumers to buy their products more comfortably.”

For his part, Tolga Öncü, Retail Operations Manager at Ikea Group, reported that “the launch of the new virtual store in Tmall is really exciting and we believe that it will complement existing sales channels, such as our Ikea stores and tailored eCommerce. that we get closer to our customers in China.”

Ikea currently operates in 30 physical stores located in China, two concept stores and a small-format store. As for online channels, the multinational continues to strengthen its electronic commerce by having a website, an application and now its new flagship store in Tmall.
