Mobile World Congress 2020 was canceled

The organizers of the event decided to postpone the realization of the event due to the low attendance due to the coronavirus

The Mobile Wolrd Congress 2020, which was scheduled to be held in the city of Barcelona between February 24 and 27, was canceled by the organizers.

Through a statement published by the GSMA, the CEO of John Hoffmann stressed that “the global concern about the outbreak of the coronavirus, travel  problems and other circumstances make it impossible for the GSMA to celebrate the event.”

The decision was made after a meeting where the world’s leading telecommunications operators were present.

In this meeting was evaluated, the list of companies that had canceled their participation as well as the crisis that is being experienced with the coronavirus.

The recent casualties such as those of different telecommunications operators, add to those already known as Facebook, LG, Amazon, Ericsson, among others.
