Arab Emirates will grant permanent visa to investors

The authorities are in search of people with scientific, artistic, and other skills that make a positive contribution to the nation

The United Arab Emirates agreed to start a permanent visa program to attract people with different characteristics.

According to the authorities, the aim is to attract people with scientific, artistic and other skills, as well as people with large amounts of money for investment.

“We launched today the +Gold Card+ system of the United Arab Emirates that grants permanent residence to investors and exceptional skills in medicine, engineering, science and arts,” said Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashed Al Maktum, who is also the sovereign of Dubai

Generally foreigners are subject to the sponsorship system called “kafala” to obtain limited but renewable stay permits.

In a statement issued by the information office of the government of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed said that a group of 6,800 investors had already benefited from this statute.

Mohammed also indicated that it would also be delivered to people “with exceptional talents and to anyone who contributes positively to the success of the United Arab Emirates.”
