Sale of petro begins this Monday, October 29th

The vice-president of the economic area also informed that the government signed an agreement with Air Europa for the use of the digital currency

The vice president of the Venezuelan economic sector, Tareck El Aissami, announced this week that the sale of the digital currency petro will formally begin on October 29.

As detailed by El Aissami, those interested should attend the headquarters of the National Superintendence of Cryptoactives and Related Activities, Sunacrip in Spanish, to go through a registration process in the agency.

“Starting Monday, the sale of petro in convertible currency will start in cash, euros, yuan and dollars“, El Aissami said at a press conference held on October 25th.

At the moment it is not clear what are the requirements that Venezuelans must meet in order to access the local digital currency market. El Aissami explained that at the moment in which the petro is acquired, the balance will be reflected automatically in their respective digital wallets.

Air Europa joins the petro

The vice president of the economic area also reported that the government agreed with the airline Air Europa to encourage tourism through the use of petro.

“The company Air Europa has agreed that all operations contemplated in these investment agreements will have their support in petro”, detailed El Aissami.
