Netflix launched a new account management measure on June 15. The company will require a unique email address per profile within the shared account for login.
This means that each customer must have a unique email address and their own login credentials within the same account.
The goal, according to the new Netflix update, is to “control who views their content on shared accounts.”
According to the company, in practical terms, “each profile will operate more independently within the main account. Once a unique email address is added, each user will be able to receive their own communications and notifications via email.”
With a single email address for login, the platform will be able to more accurately identify the activity associated with each profile.
“With this new system, each person will have to log in with their email address. However, the company has clarified that this change will not apply to children’s profiles.”
