Venemergencia thanked the media and a group of prominent journalists for their support of the projects and initiatives it has been implementing and developing. “Venemergencia: 20 Years of a Disruptive Healthcare System with Social Impact,” written by Rafael Arráiz Lucca and Guadalupe Burelli (who passed away a few months ago), with a foreword by Gustavo Roosen and editorial coordination by Isabela Iturriza Solulés, narrates and documents the extraordinary work of physicians Andrés Simón González-Silén and Luis Enrique Velásquez Díaz in building a project and company that combines professional and managerial excellence with a profound social conscience.

The book testifies that this path in the healthcare field, undertaken as a vocation, can be productive, sustainable, and enriching. The year that is ending, 2025, has been special for Venemergencia with the steady development of Urgent Care, and the coming year, 2026, is quite promising, as it holds great expectations.

In an exclusive interview with the media outlets of the digital communication group EL SUMARIO, Dr. Andrés Simón González-Silén, CEO of Venemergencia, and Dr. Luis Enrique Velásquez Díaz, Director of Operations, discussed the organization’s achievements and objectives as a healthcare provider. They also outlined their upcoming challenges, emphasizing innovation, human compassion, professionalism, and a commitment to the well-being of Venezuelan society. We invite you to enjoy the following video interview and related audiovisual content:

The text’s introduction states and summarizes that: “…the case of Venemergencia is emphatically unique. It began as a venture by two young medical students at the José María Vargas School of the Central University of Venezuela (UCV) twenty years ago, and today it is a healthcare provider with over a thousand employees, all within an environment fraught with difficulties (…) A new model, focused on untangling knots for patients and insurance companies, streamlining emergency care, providing humane treatment, and reducing costs for insurers and policyholders.”
