According to the president of the Venezuelan Chamber of the Food Industry (Cavidea), Juvenal Arbeláez, the ingredients for ham bread, hallacas, and other Christmas dishes are guaranteed
The president of the Venezuelan Chamber of the Food Industry (Cavidea), Juvenal Arbeláez, stated this week that the ingredients for traditional holiday dishes, such as ham bread, hallacas, and other Christmas dishes, are guaranteed.
Arbeláez said: “Regarding the Christmas dish characterized by roasted pork leg, chicken salad, and also the famous ham bread that we now see in international markets, we will have 100 % national production.”
He highlighted the efforts of pig farmers in improving genetics and contributing to the feed supply for the short-term market, which has allowed 100 % of the pork legs to be of national origin.
He also guaranteed the supply of precooked corn flour to markets and other distributors, as well as other ingredients for preparing hallacas. He added that imported products, such as olives and capers, are already in the country and available on store shelves.
